I'm trying to up my game on Christmas cards so that I have enough to send out this year. I like using the challenges to get my brain oiled! AAA Card Challenge #305 - "White on White - White only" and Tic, Tac Toe #285 - Featured Designer Karren both looked like good candidates today.
I started my card with a 5-1/2" square top-folded card of my favorite watercolor paper. After die cutting a large circle from the same paper, I used an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug embossing folder ("Foundry") to emboss it for a circular background. I love that when embossed, watercolor paper becomes smooth. I die cut the leafy/flowery elements from PTI's "Lovely Layers" die set. This stamp set and matching dies has been one of favorites over the years. I've used it many times and never tire of it. I stamped the center medallion and heat-embossed it with Satin Pearl embossing powder and used a bone folder to crease the leaves and petals of the flower.
After attaching the layered flower to the embossed background circle, I die cut an additional thin circle and tied a piece of thread to it. Finally, the small sentiment tag was heat embossed with the same Satin Pearl powder as the medallion and glued to the face of the card. I'm showing this card with a square white vellum envelope from my stash. I won't mail this card, but hand it out personally.

This is stunning, Fran! Lovely Layers has always been a favorite of mine, but I've never used just the dies. The embossed background and circle frame are gorgeous. A very elegant card!
