Sunday really sneaked up on me this week and here's a new challenge from Ann at The Paper Players already. I hate having to 'slap-dash' a card, but here it is - not a great testament to Ann's lovely color choices of balmy blue, crumb cake, petal pink, and so saffron. I immediately thought of Easter eggs. Easter isn't a holiday that I pay a lot of attention to, so my stash is sadly lacking in Easter-related supplies. Improvising is the name of this week's game!
I raffled through my stash for egg dies, a wreath stamp (Impression Obsession), chick stamp (Avery Elle #ST-19-08 "Peak-a-Boo Pets"), a basket (PTI "Basketful of Blessings"), markers, and blue twine to come up with this quick Easter-themed note card. Now I need to refurbish my square white cards so I can send this.
Hopefully, you will all find the time to do Ann's color challenge justice. It looks like the other designers have done a great job of providing you with some inspiration!
So, with all of that behind me, my plan this next week is to get my office pulled back together - it's a major mess and shared with my crafting projects. My plan is to spend some serious time with cardmaking. I didn't manage to get Valentines out this year, but I have an idea for St. Patrick's Day that I'm going to proceed with.
CAS and super cute! Glad all went well with your projects, Fran! Hope you get that card making in!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa. I did get some cardmaking in and finally sort of caught up on my design team responsibilities - you know how that goes!
DeleteVery cute... and clever!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy!
DeleteCute card Fran. Suzy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suzy!
DeleteWell for something that was thrown together quickly, it's adorable! I love mixing and matching sets and dies, and I think that little basket is just the cutest, especially with your little chick and eggs! And your project sounds really interesting...what a cool side gig!
ReplyDeleteThanks, LeAnne! Two weeks of full-time didn't feel much like a 'side gig' and gets a bit harder as I get older! But I'm caught up now and have a bit of time off until the next phase of my projects. The medical spa is going into construction and the historic building lobby is almost complete.
DeleteAbsolutely adorable, Fran! What a perfect way to use the challenge colors! I love it. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann!
DeleteI think your CAS Easter card is just perfect - and if it came together at speed, you'd never know it! I'm fascinated by the colouring on your basket - it adds so much dimension and looks so realistic. I'm also intrigued by your day job - this sounds so interesting! And you know what $ means - more craft supplies lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, Joanne! The $ for the day job sadly won't mean more supplies! We tore up our front yard in the late summer with the idea of cutting back on lawn and adding waterwise native plants and then ran out of money when we had to replace the heat pump system. YIKES! Now the yard just looks like a mud puddle. Landscaping is far more expensive than we had anticipated.
DeleteFran, I love your Easter card. your little chick nestled amongst those pretty pastel eggs is fabulous. Gorgeous CAS card and wonderful use of the colors
