We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday starting today and the special topping is "Feather". I actually had to go in search of a new stamp/die set for this challenge, although I suppose I could have made it a lot easier on myself by designing something with a bird on it! And before I got this finished, one of my cats ate one of the feather stamps. (I know because I found a small portion of it under the dining room table.)
Except for the feather, all of the papers, dies, stamps, and gems came out of my stash. The new stamp/die set is from Crafter's Companion (Heavenly Boho Feathers")The card base was already folded and in my pink drawer - along with the printed paper. I die cut a stitched rectangular panel from the printed paper, mounted it to a white mat, and attached it to the face of the pink card. I die cut the fancy white frame from white card stock and mounted a second layer to the face of the frame and stamped it in PTI "Autumn Rose" with a sentiment from PTI's "Star Prints". I white heat embossed the feather image onto pink vellum and die cut it. I attached the embossed feather to an additional vellum layer and creased it a bit for some dimension. I attached the sentiment and feather to the printed panel and added 3 clear rhinestones.
Love the feather stamped on vellum! It goes perfectly with the soft colors of your card. Bummer about the 4-legged eating it!

DeleteA beautiful card in lovely soft colors with the printed paper and vellum feather. You'd think as much as I love birds I'd have some feathers but, nope. I'm sorry you lost a stamp to your cat. It sounds like something my dog would do. She eats everything she gets her mouth on.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leslie! My old lab used to eat paper and I had to really keep an eye on things. One day I had spent some time getting valentines ready and couldn't figure out why I was short by one valentine - then I went out to the yard to find pink dog poop!
DeleteLove the feather stamped on vellum! Pretty card, Fran and a fabulous family photo. Sounds like a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa!
DeleteAs you know, I think this card is just stunning! Your choice of color really appeals to me. What a great family picture you shared, everyone looks so happy! Sounds like your cat was looking for some attention. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy!
DeleteGorgeous floaty feel in your feather, I must try stamping on vellum! Love the pretty pinks and your whole design. Your family sound like they had an amazing trip! Sad that your kitty ate the stamp though! Cathy x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy!
DeleteI absolutely love the total soft look of this feather card. The vellum feather and the color really caught my eye. I love the note about your family's trip. wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice words, Barbara!
DeleteLove your soft colors and the pattern paper that you showcased your feather on. Beautiful card. Thanks for sharing a picture of your family and the Matterhorn. And thanks for being our Surprise Party Guest this month.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! I'm enjoying my tenure at your challenge.
DeleteBeautiful card, Fran! Vellum is perfect for feathers, and I love the background paper. But wait, you have a pink drawer!?! A drawer for every colour, even?
ReplyDeleteHi, Shirley - I do have a drawer for each color! I have rolling carts of drawers filled with scraps and smaller pieces, separated by color. And then, some years ago a craft store was going out of business and selling off their plastic trays they used for 12x12 sheets of paper and I bought 18 at $5 each!
DeleteSuch a pretty and feminine card with your lovely feather stamped on vellum. Love your card.
ReplyDeleteThank you, JoAnn!
DeleteHi Fran! Another fabulous card as our guest at STB!! I love the background and the soft colors, not to mention the awesome feather that is embossed, that is a very nice touch!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Colleen!
DeleteThe feather stamped on vellum looks especially pretty. I love the soft pink that you've paired it with too. Great card, Fran. Thank you for your inspiration for Seize the Birthday challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words!
DeleteAt least you got to make one card from the stamp. Funny that it was a feather stamp and not something like sentiment. LOL! Love the pink, love the vellum and love the musical notes. Thanks for guesting with us!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Julie, the irony of the cat eating the feather stamp didn't get past me! I'm guessing which one did it, considering that one of my cats is death on rubber bands and I have to make sure I don't leave any laying around.
DeleteSo soft and beautiful Fran! Great layout and I love the feather on the vellum! Also really like the musical notes on the background. So great to have you joining us.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Glenda!
